About Reflexology

Reflexology is based on the theory that there are a number of reflex points on the feet, hands and ears which are linked to various parts of the body. The area I focus on is the feet. Reflexology can be used not only as a form of relaxation but also to treat injuries and illnesses in the body.
Working with the foot, a reflexologist can determine points of imbalance and/or pain in the body. Through the use of specific massage techniques and application of pressure to these points, stress and pain can be relieved in the area of the body to which they relate.

Additional benefits are:

  • Elimination of toxins in the body
  • Stimulation of the central nervous system
  • Improved blood circulation
  • Reflexology is also a non-intrusive and alternative way of working on a client who may not be comfortable with a body massage.

About Swedish body massage

Swedish body massage is the best-known and most widely used form of massage. It uses a series of techniques including firm kneading, percussion-like tapping and stretching of the muscles. It helps the body to relax and can also aid in injury recovery, and support healing during and after illness.

Additional benefits are:

  • Increased levels of oxygen in the blood
  • Improved flexibility and range of motion
  • Decrease in muscle toxins
  • Some of my clients are athletes and weightlifters and they have found the use of Swedish body massage to be beneficial to their mobility as well as preventing injuries. It also supports the body in healing already existing injuries.
  • A massage is also great if you just want to take some time out for yourself. Enjoy a relaxing and rejuvenating treatment that will support you in getting back to your busy life.

A note from Lara:
“Finding the time to take care of ourselves is not always easy but I do believe it is important. We all lead busy lives and don’t always take time to relax and switch off. However, our bodies react to the pressures of life so it is vital to maintain our physical, mental and emotional wellbeing.”
“It is important because you are important.”
